Stay Safe Online

Please find below the “Stay Safe Online” leaflet. In order to access the Manchester City Council’s Internet Policy for Looked After Children please navigate to Professionals on the toolbar, then Specific Procedures.
Senior Management has agreed that Internet Access shall be made available to all Looked After young people within their homes.
Internet Access will be made available in ALL children's homes, with a view to Internet Acess eventually being made available in the homes of all Manchester approved Foster Carers.
But what needs to happen first is for Corporate IT to fit and install the safety and filtering software that will prevent accessing sites that are not for young people, and that will identify those that try - KEEPING YOU SAFE ONLINE.
We have recently completed the Stay Safe Internet Policy that has been approved by senior managers and will very soon be sent to all Children's Homes and Foster Carers.
And with the help of some of you, we have developed and designed a Stay Safe leaflet just for Looked After Children on how to stay safe online.
So hopefully soon, you all will be sufing the Net from your homes and have access to some of your favourite sites such as MySpace, MSN Messenger, and Bebo to name a few.
