Not all friends are the same!

Facebook friend lists are the cornerstone of privacy on Facebook. They allow you to categorise your contacts into different lists. An example of friend types might be:
  1. Family
  2. Close friends that you know in real life
  3. Friends who you know in real life but you are not especially close to
  4. People you have met online or though friends but you don’t know in real life
  5. People from work
Putting your contacts into lists like these will help you avoid making mistakes and revealing information to people that you didn’t really want to.
How to create a friend list

Each of the privacy pages list all the information you might want to publish with a small drop down list to the right hand side. The options you have are to make the information open to:

  1. Everyone
  2. Only Friends
  3. Friends of Friends
  4. No one
  5. Any friends list you have already set up. e.g. 'Family'

If you have set up friends lists these will also appear as options.
